I cannot say enough lovely things about both Rose Cottage and its host Sibylle. I arrived as a tried and stressed out America, and left feeling like a calm and happy Britt! Sibylle went out of her way to first of all get us to the cabin, and then to make us feel welcome every day. The cabin itself was beautiful, extremely well maintained, and peaceful. The first day we walked out the front door into the magic that is Ringwood forest and onto Moors Valley, at Sibylle's recommendation. It was true magic. With so many wonderful and exciting things to do right in the area, it is extremely helpful to have a host like Sibylle to point you in the right direction. We will be back, not least of which, to spend time with the lovely host dog Lexi. She was the star of the show for my children. Nothing to improve. You were aces. I really really cannot thank you enough for being so kind to myself and the children. Give Lexi all the hugs for us and keep the kids in mind for when you retire. They are ready to jump in and take over at any time. Hope to see you next year or in San Diego anytime. Ian

What an amazing little find! If you are looking for somewhere with character and charm, this is your place. I stayed in Rose cottage as a party of 8 adults and a toddler, and there was plenty of space for us. The log fired hot tub was easy to use and heated really quickly. This cottage gives a real sense of privacy and is literally on the edge of the New Forest. There is so much to do in the area, we are planning a return trip. I would highly recommend! What a beautiful place you have. The sense of privacy, and the quirkiness of the little staircases really add to the charm. We were a large family group across three generations. We were very happy with Rose Cottage. A great location and a lovely place to stay. The cottage had everything we needed. We were particularly impressed with the well equipped kitchen as we all enjoy cooking. The whole place had a lovely homely feeling and the large lounge/dining room was a great space for our whole family group to eat, play games, watch films etc. The outside area and particularly the hot tub were a real hit with the grandchildren as well as their parents. The hosts were friendly and helpful and dealt with any queries we had about the area or about our stay. They made us all feel very welcome. We really enjoyed our short break and would definitely book up again. George

Had the best time! We are a family of four, plus our dog and it was a perfect location for our little holiday. My favourite thing was going for lovely walks in the forest just a stone throw away which our dog absolutely loved and could run to her hearts content in the huge woods! The beach was only a short drive away and we ate at some great pubs. The board games available were also brilliant of an evening and my son now loves Scrabble! We made great memories and had some much needed down time. The air bnb had everything you need to be comfortable and functional. We had a lovely time with our family at Rose Cottage. It’s even better than the pictures! As a large family it was great to have a private area for the kids and dog to run and play and we all loved the hot tub. The children were all sad to leave. We loved our stay at the Rose cabin. Beautiful location, good for relaxing walks and slow meals with friends. Our one year old daughter loved the cabin and loved our hike to Moors Valley visitor center where we had a great meal and coffee. The sauna was special and unique. Highly recommend! Beautiful location, excellent accommodation for a large family. Fully enclosed garden which was brilliant for the small grandchildren. Hosts were incredibly helpful, even bringing extra toys for grandchildren to play with in the garden. Highly recommend.

We were celebrating a special birthday for my mother. The property all the whole family to be together which made the whole weekend very special. The hot tub was awesome and the kids loved the plunge pool. The amenities were perfect. Sibylle and her husband were lovely and very responsive to our needs. Would definitely recommend. Attentive, welcoming hosts and lots of attention to detail for the little things that really make the experience a magical one. The hot tub was authentic and prepared in advance for us. We enjoyed two of our nights in it under the stars. We fell in love with the hut, the hobbit and everything that came with it. Just superb. The acorn hut was so peaceful and relaxing. From the moment we arrived Sibylle was SO WELCOMING. The acorn hut is beautiful and we spent the evening bbqing and then relaxing in the woodfired tub. We had the warmest, loveliest welcome to this adorable hut. The location, the hut, the amenities – everything was perfect and we couldn’t fault it. We used the hot tub, which is definitely a must whilst staying here, and it made our weekend perfect. There are walks right on the doorstep, all of which are recommended on maps in the hut. It was so cosy and the log burner topped it all off. Thank you for the perfect weekend trip away! Maddison

The Acorn Hut was cosy and comfortable. The log burner throws out so much warmth and there was plenty of logs available in the hut. The kitchenette is very well appointed; we went to Waitrose for some lovely micro meals which was perfect. We sat with the fire lit, reading our books, listening to the rain dropping on the roof, so relaxing! Sibylle was lovely and showed us the toilet and show facilities, she was so friendly and warm! All in all a wonderful short stay and we will definitely want to stay again! Erin

What an amazing place to stay. Such a beautiful place to use as a base to explore the New Forest. Hot tub was such a lovely addition, I don’t like the chemicals in regular hot tubs, so a wood fired one with fresh water was fantastic. It also felt very private, right outside the hut. The fire in the hut kept us toasty. There was a fridge, hob and plenty of crockery which was great. Toilet and shower were separate from the hut, but really easy to access. We brought our bikes, and we were able to get straight into the woods behind the hut, so it’s fantastic if you enjoy the outdoors. A shop just down the road (if you fancy cooking), and loads of nearby pubs in the town. If you want to go further afield, the New Forest is beautiful. We were made to feel so welcome, thank you again!

Dear Sibylle, Mark & Lexie, I’m so glad Aydin found this hidden gem in the New Forest. We have enjoyed our short stay at “Tuulikki” very much. It feels like we have been away longer as we soon settled into “forest life”. We had an enjoyable ramble in Ringwood Forest and Moors Valley and a 4 hour trek in the N.F. highlight was the adorable Lexie – such a beautiful girl. Tuulikki is a log cabin full of heart and soul totally in sync with its stunning setting. The cabins are very peaceful and quiet and within thirty seconds from leaving the front door we were walking in the forest. The hot tub was well worth booking and was another really special experience. Sibylle’s inherent kindness and hosting skills meant that we felt instantly at home and we could let go of life’s stresses and strains and enjoy being together in a beautiful setting. Thank you so much for a superb holiday and we’re very much looking forward to rebooking. Thank you so much for everything you did. We had a beautiful weekend at Suomi Cabins we stayed in Tuulikki cabin and it was everything we wished for! Everything was beautiful about the place. We took our 1 year old baby which Sibylle and Mark catered for perfectly, adding a highchair and cot for us on arrival! We loved the use of the log burning hot tub and the fire at night time was lovely to sit around. Everything was clean and had all we needed for our stay. We will definitely be returning and we also have family and friends that have seen our photos and also want to visit! We recommend most definitely! Our stay was all we ever wanted and more! The hosts were wonderful both informative and attentive and just a text away if any assistance was needed. Our lovely lodge was fully equipped with everything we could need and the addition of the hot tub, sauna and plunge pool we couldn't ask for anything more! Absolute little gem of a place. Beautiful setting. Felt like we were in Finland the second we arrived. Hosts are such lovely people and attentive. Recommend hiring the hot tub. In the night time it’s beautiful star gazing sat in it! Ringwood forest walk was just on the otherside of the gate at the back which is a lovely easy walk and nice for the dog. Tuulikki cabin we stayed in was immaculately clean with all essentials for cooking and more. Also, lots of boards games etc. There is an outdoor pool but we didn’t use due to time but looked fun. Highly recommend, we only wish we booked for longer than 2 nights. Definitely going back again. Thank you again both for such a lovely two nights stay. We wish we booked longer! Sibylle made us feel welcome straight away and was available when we arrived to show us around. When we met Mark later he was warm and welcoming and we felt like we were amongst friends from the start. Such a beautiful place and amazing hosts. Would recommend to anyone and can’t wait to return with friends to one of the bigger cabins. My partner and I had a lovely time staying at the Tuulikki cabin. Both the cabin and the location exceeded our expectations. The area is very peaceful and feels remote yet there is a lot to explore and the town is nearby. The surrounding forest is beautiful and perfect for dog walks. The cabin was cosy and had the exact style we were looking for. Lovely decorations. It was clear the hosts put a lot of effort into making the space and the whole experience as comfortable as possible. Both hosts were very helpful and welcoming and their dog was friendly and well behaved. Would love to come back eventually, 10/10 recommended Dorota

Lovely little hideaway in the woods, Sibylle and Mark are great and easy to get on with, Lexi the dog was super friendly and gentle and I miss the big fat Robin who came to visit in the garden everyday! We had the most wonderful, restorative time at the cabin. We were welcomed so wonderfully, and everything looked even better than the photos. It was the perfect base for our family to have many adventures. We’re already looking forward to planning another visit soon!

Wir hatten mit unserem Hund eine tolle Zeit in der Unterkunft von Sibylle. Wer Ruhe und Erholung in der Natur sucht ist hier genau richtig. Das Haus ist gemütlich, sauber und mit allem ausgestattet was benötigt wird. Für gute Tipps für Touren in der Umgebung war Sibylle jederzeit ansprechbar und sehr hilfsbereit. Die Kommunikation hat einwandfrei funktioniert. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

I had a lovely four days at the cabin. Felt very safe as a solo traveller, and it was such an enchanting location tucked away amongst the big trees and rhododendrons. Sibylle and Mark were very welcoming and helpful. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and the cabin overall was really comfortable. I really loved the skylights in the bedroom that let the fresh air breeze in while I slept. A very relaxing stay!

Great stay, clean, cosy, quiet, private cabin. Settled in beautiful forest surroundings and a short walk away for the centre of Ringwood, where there are lovely shops, very good restaurants, wine bars and pubs if you fancy an evening out. The cabin had everything we needed and although there were other guests on the grounds we couldn’t hear them and felt completely relaxed. The wood fired hot tub on our private deck area was perfect with a glass of wine in the evenings and a trip to the Finnish style Sauna and pool is definitely recommend we booked for an early evening slot had the best night sleep after. A stress-meltingly sublime weekend away. Lush surroundings with copious rhododendrons in full bloom. Beautiful woodlands to explore too, however, we chose to camp out in the hot tub, sauna and relax around the fire pit, which is precisely what we needed. Sibylle was extremely helpful in setting up the wood-fired sauna and gave us fool proof instructions its use, including the traditional Finnish dip in the freezing pool and whacking ourselves with birch leaves! The wood-fired hot tub was a delight on both nights, again, set up by Sibylle. Soaking in the warm water, sipping Bellinis and gazing up at the stars was a particular highlight. The accommodation was well thought out, and obviously designed with care. Both my husband and I have bad backs, so we always worry about how comfortable the beds will be when we go away, but we slept like babies. We were both extremely sad to leave, but we returned home fully re-charged and ready to face the working week. A truly wonderful trip. Joe

This has been the best few days for me and my wife. We chose this place to spend our honeymoon, because of the tranquil setting and deemed it the ideal place for some rest and relaxation. Sibylle was the best host and went above and beyond for us. We plan on coming back on every anniversary from now on! If I could give 6 stars I would! Sibylle, thank you for everything! We have just spent the best 3 days in the Piilopirtti cabin, cooking on the bbq, enjoying the wood fired hot tub and being surrounded by the forest and nature has been magical. It's a great location and a lovely walk into Ringwood. Mark and Sibylle were great hosts, Mark went out of his way to be helpful by dropping us into town a few times and giving us great restaurant recommendations like our valentine meal at The Cellar in Ringwood. We stayed in Piilopirtti. It was perfect for Christmas getaway, just us and the dogs. It was cosy, welcoming and well appointed. We even managed to cook Christmas dinner with all the trimmings in the wee kitchen. It was lovely to be able to walk out of the garden straight into the woods. The surrounding area offers lots to see and do but we opted for a long walk in the New Forest and a pub lunch on Boxing Day before heading back to the cabin. The hosts Sibylle and Mark were lovely, very welcoming and made our stay easy and hassle free from booking to checking out. We will definitely consider staying again and will recommend to friends. Dear Sibylle Thank you so much for your family taking care of us on our first trip away with our new baby. We were made to feel at home and the place was beautiful. Amazing hut in the woods; we loved the hot tub! Great fire pit and bbq. Bed was also so comfy!! You can access a wood on foot from the property, but if wanting to into go Brockenhurst / other parts of new forest then would suggest having a car. We loved our stay and will be recommending it to our friends!

Left already thinking - when will I be back! What a lovely place and lovely hosts. It's a big property in the woods, walkable distance to Moors Valley and Go Ape (a hit with children) and into Ringwood town too. The chalet is so cozy, with a wood burning stove and quality appliances, full kitted for a perfect stay. The hot tub outside was definitely the highlight of our stay - after spending the day outdoors, it was wonderful to relax in it. We enjoyed our stay immensely; in fact, it was one of our favourite getaways so far and will likely return. I loved the rustic charm and woodland setting with direct access to the forest behind. We used the BBQ each evening as well as the fire pit. We even tried the log burner inside. Our young dog loved Lexi the dog in residence and we enjoyed her popping over and joining us on the patio. The lodge was very large in comparison to previous comparable places we've stayed and had more than everything you could possible need. We miss you Lexi! Natalie

We had the most amazing weekend here for my boyfriend’s birthday. It was a complete surprise for him and he was not disappointed. Sibylle was so helpful and friendly as was her husband Mark and the dog Lexi who roamed around to keep an eye on things. We were not the only ones that had a good time, but as we left, my dog Oscar sat by the hot tub refusing to leave. He loved the place so much he wanted to stay. We will be back. Just perfect for long forest walks, lunches out and evenings spent in the hot tub with a glass of bubbly or a sauna. We left feel so totally relaxed and re energised. Thank you so much! Mark and Sibylle are so lovely and friendly. They are always around to help out with the hot tub or fire if you need it. The directions they gave us were spot on and the setting is just beautiful. Surrounded by massive trees and the smell of fire, we had a BBQ whilst out hot tub warmed up! Sibylle helped get it the right temperature so I could take a dip despite being 36 weeks pregnant, it was so relaxing! She also left us a box of chocolates saying ‘congratulations’ on it outside! The hut had everything you could need and we enjoyed a game of scrabble in front of the fire before tucking in for the night. If you have a dog there is a gate a 10 second walk from the hut straight into the woods! Perfect! Grace

Hello there Sibylle and Mark, thank you so much. We found your place on Airbnb and it was the exact picture of the home we dream we can live in one day and so it was a no brainer to book as a quick getaway from on our weekend off. Everything you have done is so wonderful, you provide a really comfortable stay and an experience of that outdoorsy living which is such a respite from the normal hustle and bustle of life. Thank you also for being so kind to our little gremlin 😊 he needed a break from everyday life as much as we did and he had a great time running around in the woods! You guys are really cool and thank you again, we feel like our batteries are recharged for another busy time at work and we really look forward to staying with you guys again at some point. A perfect escape. What I love about this place is that it is so close to the local towns and little villages but you can truly feel like you are out in the wilderness! The cabin is perfectly set up with everything you could need with a fully equipped kitchen (we brought our cafetiere but there was already one there for example!), comfortable super kind bed (the washing powder used smells amazing!) and a lovely bathroom. The little deck outside with the hot tub and bbq make it a really fun way to live while you are there. We took a couple of blankets with us so we could sit outside as long as possible in to the evening as it does get cold but the heating in the cabin is excellent and makes you really comfortable when you are inside. This is a very therapeutic place to stay, you can hear birds everywhere which we found really relaxing. You can hear the rush of traffic from the road near by but I feel like it’s your choice to focus on that or not. It is a perfect place to take your dog with you as you can walk through a little gate and you are in the forest. It is only a 15 minute drive to the beach and you can also walk through the forest on to the Avon Valley/Castleman Trailway which leads to Ringwood where there is really nice shopping and cute cafes. The footpath can actually be taken a good distance, if you are in to walking you can get all the way to Avon and also it leads to Salisbury and then Poole in the other direction. Close by to the cabin is a little one stop shop in case you forget to bring milk or run out of tea bags! If you want a real taste of outdoors living but close to everything you could need this is really the best place to stay. You can have yourself some real adventures and really relax. Hosts Sibylle and Mark really are the most excellent hosts, super down to earth and masters of hospitality. We had mentioned when we arrived that we would like the hot tub the next afternoon, went in to Ringwood for the afternoon and when we got back Mark had set it all up for us so it was ready to go after we had a bbq of which you can buy the coals from them. Amazing and so thoughtful. We will, if we can, as it may well be fully booked up over the next few months being such an awesome place to stay, be using this as our little get away whenever we can. A real gem of a place to stay and we feel really lucky to have experienced it! Katie

Great place to relax from city life. Lovely surroundings and very private with direct access to nice woods. Next to fantastic ZIP PARK with lots of things to do for kids. Sibylle and Mark are very friendly and helpful , they really care about you from time you enter the land. They are always there , happy to help , communicate very well and very quick. Also loved their dog , Lexi , always behind corner looking after us - thank you :) I would highly recommend this place if you want to chill out properly with family or have a great time with your friends. Stayed as part of a group of running friends in the forest for a weekend race. We all really enjoyed our stay, is a lovely spot and having the wood burners, hot tub and sauna made it even more fun and relaxing. Sibylle was on hand whenever we needed anything, all in all highly recommended. Lance

Beautiful cabin a stones throw from some stunning walks. Our dogs were living there best life. Hosts were lovely and helpful. Location is brilliant and close to some fabulous places. The outdoor hot tub was a piece of heaven and we were lucky to have a clear night and saw several shooting stars. Mark and Sibylle were absolutely phenomenal hosts and we were so well looked after. They were so welcoming when we arrived and our dog Ragnar had the best time! We really felt like we were away in Finland! There were amazing walks nearby and sat by lots of fires. Our favourite part was heading into the sauna and jumping in the cold pool after! We ended up doing this 3 times is was amazing! We can’t wait to come back. Danni

My partner and I had a great couple of days away with our dog escaping the daily grind, relaxing in the hot tub and sauna whilst surrounded by woodland. You’re not in a completely private or secluded space but the owners are open about this. Seeing the development and creation of this place through the old photographs was special as they have built it all themselves! Lanna

We had a great 5 night stay at the cabin with our 2 year old daughter and spaniel. Both loved it as much as us. Cabin had everything we needed (plus cot and highchair) and we managed to get the hot tub going with our own wood no problem. Sibylle & Mark were extremely helpful and went out of their way to help us get settled. Would recommend walking to the Moors Valley country park to any other families visiting as it was fantastic. Thanks again for our stay (and massive thanks for the extra time and help with our roof box - couldn't have done it without you!!) The place is lovely and we would definitely return again. Florence

It was a great place to celebrate my wife’s 30th birthday, and I have to say Sibylle was an amazing host. Extremely friendly and very polite. Whatever we needed she was there straight away to assist. The inside of the cabin is beautiful, and the hottub was awesome. We have 2 dogs and there were lots of places to walk them near the cabin and a great local pub nearby. The cabin is really nice and quaint, it’s got everything you need and Sibylle is very helpful with our requests. Lexi, their German Shepherd is very friendly, too. Sibylle was so friendly and we genuinely felt like we were welcomed like family friends. We used the 2.5 hour sauna which was a wonderful experience. The outside pool was perfect plunge pool temperature. We also used the hot tub both nights and the BBQ. Sibylle was always around to answer questions. We were not the only ones that had a good time, but as we left, my dog Oscar sat by the hot tub refusing to leave. He loved the place so much he wanted to stay. We will be back. The surrounding forest is beautiful and perfect for dog walks. Both hosts were very helpful and welcoming and their dog was friendly and well behaved. Would love to come back eventually, 10/10 recommended. Dorota

Lexi was a lovely little visitor!

It is a perfect place to take your dog with you as you can walk through a little gate and you are in the forest. It is only a 15 minute drive to the beach and you can also walk through the forest on to the Avon Valley/Castleman Trailway which leads to Ringwood where there is really nice shopping and cute cafes. The footpath can actually be taken a good distance, if you are in to walking you can get all the way to Avon and also it leads to Salisbury and then Poole in the other direction. Close by to the cabin is a little one stop shop in case you forget to bring milk or run out of tea bags! If you want a real taste of outdoors living but close to everything you could need this is really the best place to stay. You can have yourself some real adventures and really relax. A real gem of a place to stay and we feel really lucky to have experienced it! Katie

We brought our bikes, and we were able to get straight into the woods behind the hut, so it’s fantastic if you enjoy the outdoors. A shop just down the road (if you fancy cooking), and loads of nearby pubs in the town. If you want to go further afield, the New Forest is beautiful. We were made to feel so welcome, thank you again!

Great place to relax from city life. Lovely surroundings and very private with direct access to nice woods. Next to fantastic ZIP PARK with lots of things to do for kids. I would highly recommend this place if you want to chill out properly with family or have a great time with your friends. We will be back next year for sure. Marcin

The first day we walked out the front door into the magic that is Ringwood forest and onto Moors Valley, at Sibylle's recommendation. It was true magic. With so many wonderful and exciting things to do right in the area, it is extremely helpful to have a host like Sibylle to point you in the right direction.

We had a lovely couple of days away, Sibylle and mark place was lovely it was spotless, the hot tub was amazing and Lexi was lovely she a friendly dog and got on well with Nelly our dog, we loved the point that you could walk out the gate straight into Ringwood forest then straight onto moors valley, also Ringwood was only about a 30 minute walk, so it was a great place to stay with lots on your doorstep. If you want somewhere to eat I highly recommend the Fish inn. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely cosy wooden cabin, there was everything we needed, we loved the hot tub, you live in an amazing place with the forest on your doorstep, we had a lovely time. It was lovely to be able to walk out of the garden straight into the woods. The surrounding area offers lots to see and do but we opted for a long walk in the New Forest and a pub lunch on Boxing Day before heading back to the cabin. Both the cabin and the location exceeded our expectations. The area is very peaceful and feels remote yet there is a lot to explore and the town is nearby. Settled in beautiful forest surroundings and a short walk away for the centre of Ringwood, where there are lovely shops, very good restaurants, wine bars and pubs if you fancy an evening out. Thanks Sibylle, see you again soon :)

Beautiful woodlands to explore too, however, we chose to camp out in the hot tub, sauna and relax around the fire pit, which is precisely what we needed. Sibylle was extremely helpful in setting up the wood-fired sauna and gave us fool proof instructions its use, including the traditional Finnish dip in the freezing pool and whacking ourselves with birch leaves! The wood-fired hot tub was a delight on both nights, again, set up by Sibylle. Soaking in the warm water, sipping Bellinis and gazing up at the stars was a particular highlight. Joe

Hot tub was such a lovely addition, I don’t like the chemicals in regular hot tubs, so a wood fired one with fresh water was fantastic. It also felt very private, right outside the hut. The fire in the hut kept us toasty.

Superb. Sauna, hot tub, beautiful cabin. Comfortable and luxurious. This is a genuine Finnish experience. Loeyly is long and soft. We enjoyed staring at the stars from the comfort of the wood fired hot tub. Proper wood fired sauna followed by a quick dip in the outdoors pool. We’ll be back! Simon

If you’re looking for a relaxing weekend to enjoy some nature then this is for you. The hot tub is amazing, if you’re lucky you’ll get a sky full of stars. A must is the sauna and plunge pool and the walks nearby are brilliant. Great with the dog too. Would come again for sure. Ewan
