FAQ

Do you allow pets? Yes. Well behaved pets are very welcome. Pets are charged at £20 each. Please see our 'House Rules' regarding pets in the cabins.

Do cabins have enclosed outside spaces/gardens? The property is enclosed by a fence on the forest side. Each individual cabin has open plan gardens so we advise people with young children or dogs to supervise them at all times. We currently don't have a gate onto the road side.

What is mobile service/reception like at the cabins? Guests have found reception to generally be fine. This may vary between providers.

Can we stay for just one night? It is generally possible. However, the one-night stay rate is proportionally higher as fixed costs remain the same. Please enquire about prices.

Is there a BBQ? There is a BBQ at each cabin. You can either purchase charcoal on-site or bring your own BBQ charcoal. If using disposable BBQ’s please place them on top of the BBQ. Please do not put any ash into the bins.

Is there a firepit? Each cabin has its own firepit. You can purchase logs, kindling and firelighters on-site or bring your own. Please do not put any ash into the bins.

What would be a good idea to bring? This depends on what you have booked. If you have an all-inclusive booking (including bed linen and electricity), then all you really need to bring is yourselves and some food. Other things, if required, include BBQ charcoal or logs and (extra) towels for use with the hot tub or the beach. Two toilet rolls are provided per bathroom. Given the cabins are a Wi-Fi free space, we recommend bringing games and activities. We provide washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, J cloth, tea towels, hand towel, scourer, surface spray and one kitchen roll in each fully equipped kitchen. Alternatively, you have the option to bring your own linen and use the electric meters to pay as you go for the use of electricity.

Can we get food delivered from local supermarkets? Yes. The best supermarkets for this are Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, or Ocado. The postcode to quote is BH24 2EE and the address is Rose Cottage, Horton Road. Please tell them which cabin to go to and specify a time when you will be present to take delivery. If you would like a delivery to take place prior to your arrival, please contact us as we can accept deliveries on your behalf.

How far is the nearest food store? The best bet for a large food shop is Ringwood (1.9 miles drive) which has Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Iceland and Lidl. There is a Morrison's in Verwood (10-minute drive). The nearest small food shop however is the One-Stop down Horton Road which is a 1-minute drive.

Can we get a takeaway delivered to our cabin? We have many local places that will deliver food to our cabins. These are listed below. Please ensure that you tell them which cabin to deliver to. Masala (01425 477315)

What is included in the booking cost? Included in your booking is the cabin rental, fully equipped kitchen and books and games. We offer guests the option to bring their own bed linen. If guests wish to hire this, this can be arranged for a fee. Laatokka has an electricity meter (set at cost from the electricity supplier) which takes one pound and two pound coins. Many guests enjoy this as a means to keep their outgoings to a minimum and to educate younger children about energy consumption for the benefit of the environment and their own pocket! Alternatively, please speak to us if you wish to include electricity in the overall booking charge. A cot and high chair can be provided free of charge on request. The pool is also free to use at any time when open (April till September, weather depending). The only additional costs come from extras such as the sauna, hot tub, towels, pets or purchase of logs for example. The full list of these can be found on the Optional Extras.

Is it possible to bring an extra guest? We need to be informed about any additional guests for insurance purposes. If you wish to add guests to your booking, please contact us. Additional guests added post-booking may incur additional costs depending on the requirements.

When do we need to pay by? We request a 30% deposit on booking and the remaining balance to be paid 30 days before arrival. For bookings made within 30 days of your arrival date, the full amount is paid on booking.

What methods of payment are accepted? Bank transfer or a cheque made payable to M Gleed. We don't accept credit or debit card payments.

Do you recommend holiday insurance? Due to unforeseeable circumstances such as family bereavement or exceptional adverse weather conditions, we recommend the provision of travel/cancellation insurance. Please see our T&C.

Can we pay individually for our booking? Sorry, we prefer if you can pay through one person.

Are the cabins child friendly? Yes, our cabins are ideal for family cabin holidays with kids of all ages. In terms of activities and things to do this is a great place to bring kids and they always enjoy their stay with us. Our cabins are very safe although due to some mezzanines requiring the use of steep stairs or a vertical ladder, we do advise young children to be under constant supervision. Please also be aware of any children around lit wood burners, BBQs and fire pits. Also please be aware that there are cleaning products in the cabins. Child safety outlet plug covers are available on request.

Can you provide cots and high chairs? Yes, free of charge.

Do you accept hen and stag parties? Generally we don't allow parties. However, we allow hen and stag "groups" who are simply looking for a relaxing hideaway or a base to do further activities from. We do this in the interest of other guests and neighbours. Please note we do not allow any loud outdoor music at any time and ask for guests to turn the music down after 10 pm as our cabins are positioned within a peaceful area.

What are the arrival and departure times? Guests can arrive from 16:00 onwards on their day of arrival and must leave by 10:00am on their day of departure. Sometimes we can be flexible on check-in and check-out times. For this or any other flexible arrangements, please speak to us.

Do the cabins have WiFi? We pride ourselves on being a WiFi-free retreat for guests' ultimate connection to each other, nature and the outdoors.

What is the best cabin for disabled access? Laatokka is the best cabin for disabled access. We can provide a ramp to access any cabin entrance. All of the cabins have bedrooms and toilets on the ground floor for easy access for those less able. Laatokka is the most accessible of all cabins.

How do we get to Suomi Cabins? Please see our 'HOW TO FIND US' page for details on how to get to us. Our holiday cabins are located at the edge of the New Forest close to the old market town of Ringwood.
